So much for catching up!

Late breaking news from Greg W who just sent me these incredible photos showing an amazing level of finish on the cockpits along with a start on the covering with the chequers on the rudder!

Looking good!

Looks like I'll be working until midnight tomorrow night!

Wing mounts...

I spent four hours working on the wing mounts this afternoon & made plenty of progress.......even though by looking at the photos you'd never know it!

This section takes plenty of time, plenty of patience & plenty of beers afterwards!

Hopefully more to come tomorrow night!

Ready to cover!

Greg W sent me through these photos of his PnP which now ready to cover!

Check out the beautiful sheeting & sanding work on the front of the fuse!

(There's even a cameo from Jen)!

Time for me to get those wing mounts sorted so I can catch up, but this is a hard act to follow!

Super Sunday

Well, here goes the biggest post of the PnP build off so far with Greg W ready to start covering & me running in the engine & testing some props......

Strap yourself in because there's lots to get through!

I built myself a test bed complete with receiver, battery & throttle servo so I could run in the engine & try out a few different props.

I tried out three props being a 'Bolly Clubman' 12.5x6,a 'Master Airscrew' 13x6 & a (Wooden) 'Master Airscrew' 14x8.

The wooden prop that I loved the look of so much was hopeless & ruled out immediately.....

The Nylon 'Master Airscrew' was good but just winning the chocolates was the 'Bolly Clubman'!

Here's a video of the Bolly 12.5x6 at idle:

 And at full noise:

I also got lots of work on the fuse done including mounting the engine & trial-fitting the undercarriage.

Eddie's testing out the cockpit but he's unaware of his fast approaching decapitation!!

Now onto Greg W who sent me some awesome photos of his PnP in its final stage of preparation prior to covering - Greg has done an amazing job & no doubt this baby is going look even better with some Monocote on those curves!

I get the feeling that maiden flights are not that far away so stay tuned!

Fuse progress

Lots more progress over the last two nights & even though the top formers are only dry fit for now, she's starting to look like a Pete n' Poke!

All the bottom sheeting & access hatches are done.

Should be more updates tomorrow!

Father's Day Special!

Father's Day means you have an excuse to work on your Pete 'n Poke all day so that's what we did with excellent results!

I managed to achieve lots of progress on my fuse & Greg W looks like he's ready to break out the covering iron any time from now!

Here's a few photos to give you an idea of what's what.....

Greg W's PNP looks almost ready to take off!

Be prepared for lots more photos & updates soon!
