Quick update

Not much time tonight, but I got the wing mounts glued in with two toothpicks drilled through & glued per upright to make sure they can never pull out of the fuse under load which has been the undoing of more than one Pete 'n Poke over the years!

Just the sides to cover now followed by the blue trims. Next the wings!

More progress..

The fuse is coming along well now, you can't see it in the photos but the bottom is covered too...

Hope to finish the fuse tomorrow night.

Tail feathers are complete!

More covering today means that the tail feathers are looking good!

Need to wait for more white Oracover to arrive before I start on the wings & fuse....

Some progress with covering

I've now covered the fin, rudder, elevators, ailerons, landing gear covers & fuse hatches.

Ready for the final sanding of the fuse & wing.

Update

Not very exciting to look at, but I got the wheel strut covers & elevators covered last night. (Still need to pinstripe the trailing edge of the elevators).

Probably do the ailerons & start on the wing tonight.

Covering the fin

Another two & a half hours last night & the fin is now covered too!

Shame about the obvious mistake with matching the chequers between the rudder & the fin, but I was finished when I realised & there was no way I was going to rip everything off the fin & start again!

Just to clarify, every blue chequer is hand cut & placed on top of a solid white background after first ruling guide lines with a felt pen. The pen marks are then removed using metho after everything is finished. (Thanks to Greg W for the tips on how to do this)!

Oh well, fortunately that's the last of the chequers anyway!

Finally some progress!

After making the decision to stop working on everything but the Pete 'n Poke, I finally finished covering the rudder & I'm ready to keep going & to finish this baby!

It took about three hours but have a look at my chequer work!

Hopefully some more covering tomorrow night!
